| Not myself but wouldn't mind having a cosplay contest at the next CCAG Show. I've seen some cool costumes at a few Larger past shows I have been to. Mike : )

OK.. call me naive if you want hehe but i didnt actually understand what that term "COSPLAY" ment.. i seen it on line used a few times but really never paid attention to the actual meaning.
here is what i just found out :

So they actually do role playing too?!?! like perform plays during these shows?! Or is it just going dressed up in a costume thing?!
You know what would be really kewl is if someone cosplayed to the show as "Kasumi", the cute red head from DeaD OR Alive game.
They had some killer costumes in that game. Or even better yet as Kasumi dressed as she would from the XTREME BEACH VOLLEYBALL GAME! :O)
Yeah even make it better by doing a DOA XTREME BEACH VOLLEYBALL cosplay pagent!! Where they all dress up as different characters from that game?!
Ok ok i know i know.... it was just some ideas thats all!!

Some people act out skits or stay in character when they cosplay, but it's mostly just going in costume and having fun, meeting other nerds and stuff.
I dressed up as Ayane(purple hair) from DOA extreme beach volleyball, but most females don't have the boobs to dress up like that(I know I don't,ha).
I've dressed up as "girl mario" before, catwoman,Rogue,Scorpion, for Ohaycon in January I'm going as Soma from Castlevania.
Many conventions also have costume contests.
Guys and chicks, all shapes and sizes can cosplay.
Have you ever seen Sailor Bubba?

Yeah i seen on a site long time ago, i think it was for 3DRealms... they had a picture of a guy dressed up as Duke Nukem and they had a couple of them girls you see in the game that you hand a dollor to and say WANNA DANCE?! the Girls were dressed up.. it kinda looked like what your saying.
No, I never heard of Sailor Bubba!! is that like the Skipper from Gilligans island??!

I work at ohayocon, so I've seen some pretty damn good costumes. The skits that they do, some are good, some, well... meh.
I'm sorry, but I don't need to see the interpretive dance to the End of Evangelion.

Ohayocon is an anime convention based here in Ohio. I've been with them since year one on gaming staff, and this will be our 10th anniversary. We originally were at the Airport Sheraton, then Independence, but have greatly expanded and have since moved to the Columbus Convention Center (we had about 8000 people this past January).
Other conventions in Ohio off the top of my head are Sugoicon (cincinatti), A&G (cinci), Anime Punch (cbus), and Colossalcon (sandusky).
Colossalcon would be the nearest one to northeast ohio, as that is held at the Kalahari resort... I've worked that one too, but I'm not a big fan of it for many reasons.
Some of the stuff that has been done at Ohayocon (and other cons):
AMV contests- people making music vids to anime
Anime/live action movies- self explanatory (usually multiple rooms)
Rave- nuff said
Gaming tournaments- nuff said
Panels- ranging from "why your favorite anime sucks", "being a voice actor" etc
Invited guests- voice actors, producers, etc. who you get to meet
Anime Hell- you merely have to go just for this if this event is going on

ohayocon was pretty interesting last time.
did anyone go to A&G this year? I ended up not being able to go.
its too bad I lack the craftsmanship to make me a nice cosplay outfit. maybe ill shave my head, get a tan, and go as Dhalsim  tall and skinny helps.
